“The hotel is a living organism powered by people”
Is hospitality an industry where women find their place and thrive?
“Absolutely. Hospitality is a dynamic and demanding environment. It calls for strong organisation, attentiveness, and fast decision making. At Arche Hotel Poloneza Warszawa, women make up the majority of the management team, and that is a natural outcome of how the team has developed,” says Sylwia Pawłowska.
She emphasises that teamwork is the foundation of every hotel.
“Every department matters. Front office, food and beverage, sales, housekeeping, engineers, everyone together shapes the guest experience. The work of every colleague, both women and men, is truly valued, because the team is the heart of the hotel.”
Asked about managing a large property, she adds:
“Arche Hotel Poloneza Warszawa offers 384 rooms, 750 square metres of conference space, and 13 flexible meeting rooms. It is a large organism that requires strong communication, trust, and consistency in action. What matters most is building a team that understands a shared goal.”
Women led initiatives within the hotel
Does day to day work involve cooperation with women in the context of events hosted at the hotel?
“Of course. Arche Hotel Poloneza Warszawa is a home for many initiatives created by women and for women. The hotel has hosted, among others, the Dinner for Entrepreneurial Women, the Women’s Academy Conference, and an energising gathering celebrating women’s strength with the Józefosław Rural Women’s Association. These events show how strong women’s entrepreneurship is today, and how important it is to have spaces for exchanging experiences,” the General Manager explains.
The hotel is also valued as a conference venue in Warsaw, with rooms that can accommodate up to 300 people, an in house gastronomic back office, and a convenient location 4 km from Warsaw Chopin Airport. It is a place chosen for conferences, trainings, industry events, and corporate integration meetings.
Lena Grochowska: Connecting business with social responsibility
On the occasion of Women’s Day, it is impossible not to mention Lena Grochowska, co founder of the Lena Grochowska Foundation, who for years has been building a model of entrepreneurship shaped by social sensitivity. The Foundation supports people with disabilities and those at risk of social exclusion, creating jobs as well as opportunities for artistic and professional development.
One of the Foundation’s branches is located on the premises of Arche Hotel Poloneza Warszawa. It is an example of a genuine connection between business and social mission, as the Foundation’s work is an integral part of the Arche Hotels identity. The hotel hosts artistic studios and integration initiatives that demonstrate how social responsibility can be a part of everyday operations, not merely a declaration.
“The Arche philosophy is built on values. The presence of the Lena Grochowska Foundation in our hotel reminds us that business can and should have a social dimension and support diversity,” says Sylwia Pawłowska.
